CLEANING TIPS:
Natural rubber provides a semi-adhesive surface, but as it does not completely absorb sweat. Manduka recommends using an Equa® or Yogitoes® towel or another yoga towel from our selection. You can also improve anti-slip by using Manduka Grip Hand Gel.
Due to the biodegradable nature of the material, the eKO® series is not recommended for daily intensive exercise, e.g. in a hot environment. The rubber surface requires regular care to maintain its durability and function.
Tip for daily "refreshment" of the mat:
Keep your eKO® mat fresh and clean it with Manduka spray Wash & Refresh or at least water after each exercise. Always wipe the mat dry with a clean cloth before rolling or using it.
For deep cleaning:
Maintain the quality of your eKO® mat with a monthly deep cleaning (once a month). Spray, leave the cleaner to act for 5 minutes and then gently wipe the mat with a clean cloth before rolling or using it.
Important instructions:
- Never put the eKO® mat in the washing machine as it will be damaged
- Never immerse in the water (baths)
- Never use the salt method (sprinkling the surface with salt and then washing with water)
- The use of eKO® series mats in a hot environment can dry out the natural rubber and thus reduce the flexibility of the material
- If you use the mat in hot areas, ensure that it is cleaned more regularly and that direct sunlight is avoided in order to maintain the quality of the natural material
- Before placing the mat on the floor, always make sure that the mat and the floor are completely dry.

YOGA GOODS FROM Manduka
One of the main pillars of Manduka's philosophy is to produce yoga mats, clothing and other yoga props with minimal impact on nature and leaving environmental waste. They have been doing it for nearly 20 years and are the market leader.
The story of Peter Sterios is a remarkable demonstration of how one unobtrusive idea can become a global brand that (without patheticism) helps this world to be a better place.
In 1997 architect Peter became a yogi and designed a simple, elegant black yoga mother whose combination of strength, grip and full support revolutionized the practice of yoga. He wanted to share this amazing product with his yoga teachers, whom he owed for inspiration. He had no idea that his product and idea were so appealing to his teachers, who became his customers, and that the mat would spread all over the world.
